What we do during a cleaning

Cleanings can be very involved, so we have some procedures we follow. There are tasks we do during every cleaning and there are extra tasks that require more work and attention in each room. During a cleaning, we evaluate which rooms will require the extra tasks and do those alongside our regular tasks.

Bedrooms and Living Rooms:

Regular tasks include dusting all surfaces (from windowsills to picture frames and light fixtures), cleaning glass and mirrors, cleaning furniture, and a thorough vacuuming and cleaning of the floors. For bedrooms, we offer the option of making the bed.

The in-depth tasks are washing and wet wiping the surfaces and vacuuming the tops of drapes.

Bathrooms:

For our regular tasks, we start with dusting. Then we wipe down surfaces, faucets and mirrors. We soak and scrub the basins and sanitize toilets and clean the shower walls. And we do another thorough cleaning of the floors.

The in-depth tasks include wet wiping surfaces.

Kitchen and laundry room:

Our regular tasks are wiping down all the countertops and appliances. And we do a thorough cleaning of the stovetop and the microwave. For laundry areas, it is very similar. And we vacuum and clean the floors.

The in-depth tasks are wet wiping surfaces and vacuuming chairs and drapery.

In all rooms we tidy and straighten up the area.

If there are any areas that require some extra love, just let us know! We are happy to accommodate and do some extra organizing and cleaning where you need it. This could include cleaning walls, cleaning out your refrigerator, or an extra hand in cleaning up in time for your holiday party.
